(My) Grandma's Chocolate Raspberry Crumb Bars




Total time: approx. 1 hour

Ingredients:

2 sticks butter (softened)
14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
2 cups chocolate chips, divided
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/3 cup seedless raspberry jam
1/2 cups nuts (optional)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Greese 9X13 pan.

1) Beat butter in large bowl till creamy.
2) Beat in flour, sugar, and salt until well mixed. (This is your crumb mix.)
3) With floured fingers, press 1 and 3/4 crumb mix onto bottom of greased 9X13 pan. Reserve remaining mix.
4) Bake 10-12 mins (til edges are golden brown)
5) Combine 1 cup choc. chips and sweet condensed milk in small saucepan. Melt over low heat, stirring till smooth.
6) Spread over hot crust.
7) Stir nuts into remaining crumb mix and sprinkle over chocolate filling.
8) Drop teaspoonfuls of raspberry jam over top.
9) Sprinkle with remaining 1 cup of chocolate chips.
10) Return to oven to bake 25-30 mins (till center is set and toothpick comes out clean.)
11) Cool completely before cutting into squares.
